Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has received royal blessings for his second term bid.
According to the traditional ruler of Umooba-Anam in the Anambra East Local Government Area of the state, Igwe George Ekwealor, the record of service of the incumbent justifies his bid.
In an interview with our correspondent in his palace at Umuoba-Anam, Igwe Ekwealor (Obagu 11) at the weekend said that he was influenced to support Obiano’s re-election because of the tremendous developmental strides the Governor has taken in his community.
The monarch cited the equipping of the community’s health centre, electrification projects and agricultural empowerment for his subjects as some of the good deeds of the Obiano administration.
He noted that five indigenes of the community have benefited from Obiano’s appointment, the gesture therefore deserves to be reciprocated by the community, he said.
While urging his subjects to look inwards towards  the development of the agrarian community,  the monarch emphasized that education should be given priority in many homes, stressing that the five indigenes who were appointed by Obiano were enjoying their present  status simply because of their acquisition of necessary education.
The Igwe, however, added that despite government presence in his community, the area still needs more social infrastructure like pipe-borne water, more networks of roads and agricultural incentives, adding that as  an agrarian community, farmers in the  area should be given adequate attention to be able to produce more food for people’s consumption
