How to appease Niger Delta Avengers, by monarch

The Federal Government has been advised to immediately release the two billion naira approved for the take-off of academic activities at the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) in Warri South-West area of Delta State.
Only such quick intervention can stop the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) from executing its fresh threat to ground crude oil installations in the region, according to the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, HRH Pere Naira Williams Ogoba Oboro Gbaraun II.
The kingdom is in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The monarch gave the advice on Saturday November 4 in Warri through the spokesman of Gbaramatu Traditional Council, Chief Godspower Gbenekama.
The monarch appealed to the dreaded militant group to withdraw their fresh threat and give the Buhari administration a chance to address the 16-point demands of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF).
He also, however, stressed the need for the immediate take-off of the Gas Revolution Industrial Park (GRIP) Export Processing Zone (EPZ) project in Warri.
According to the monarch, both projects will engage thousands of youths in the area and help to strengthen the fragile peace in the Niger-Delta, which has led to stability in the oil and gas sector.
The Federal Government was also enjoined by the monarch to address critical demands of PANDEF such as the maritime university, GRIP, relocation of the headquarters of oil and gas majors to the Niger-Delta.
The request for attention also includes the de-militarization of the region, fiscal federalism, ownership of oil blocs by Niger Deltans and increased funding of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
He also asked the government to construct the Omadino, Okerenkoko and Ugborodo access road, linking Warri South to Warri South-West Local Government Areas.
