The newly elected executive of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Central Zone, has described their victory at just-concluded election as a successful mandate specially prepared by God, noting that nobody on earth starts a mission with God and fails.

Christ Embassy in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, its newly elected chairman, Mr. Tare Porri, flanked by other executive members, said all Ijaw youths in the region are happy because God’s hand is involved in the new leadership.

Porri, who disclosed that the spirit of God had revealed earlier that he was sure of winning the elections, so even when the exercise was postponed thrice he wasn’t bothered, noting that he knew God’s plan to to take the youths to the next level of life.

He further stated that the election, which ran across 10 local governments with over 100 delegates and in which he won convincingly with eighty one votes, was adjudged as the freest and fairest in the history of the group.

The chairman had during his inaugural speech after his election pledged that the group would form a formidable force that would support the Governor of Bayelsa State to present the true position of the Ijaw people to the world, while faulting the military approach in handling the matter that concerns the Ijaw people and region.

He commended the governor Seriake Dickson for the security measures put in place of to flush out criminal elements in the state in the past six years.
