Kemi Adetiba, Adebola Williams, Eyo Boyo and Mildred Okwo were among the personalities that graced the cocktail event to officially launch RESET, the new theme for the seventh edition of the Lights Camera Africa!!! in 2017.
The event was held at Ugoma Adegoke’s Bloom Art Gallery in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking with guests at the event, Afegoke, co-founder, Lights Camera Africa!!!, said that the new theme for the film festival is a recognition of the weakening world order, clashing civilisations and emerging trends which she hopes would help “identify the error of our trajectories and retrace our steps in order to address issues in our own country, Nigeria.”
The 3-day event starts on 29 September at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The festival is free to attend. Interested participants however must register.
Launched in 2011, the event has grown to become one of Africa’s landmark cultural events, with this year’s set to present a series of film works and conversations that examine issues in various spheres including politics, science and the arts.
In addition to screenings, Lights, Camera, AFRICA!!! Film Festival also hosts a variety of workshops, seminars and talks that offer learning opportunities for film makers and consumers.
