Osun State Governor, Abdul Rauf Aregbesola is happy with his administration’s achievements in the area of school feeding, and proud to showcase it.
The state has been feeding 254,000 school pupils since 2012, the Governor disclosed in response to an advocacy by the World Food Programme (WFP) on the need for school meals as an investment into the future.
The world body, in a statement, disclosed that last year it provided school meals to 17.4 million pupils in 63 countries as a demonstration of its commitment to that cause.
Agreeing with the WFP, Aregbesola tweeted on Sunday that his state has not fared badly in that regard.
He tweeted: “Osun very well understands the importance of school feeding. We have fed 254,000 school kids with one meal a day, everyday since 2012.”
