Sympathisers on Thursday thronged the Oluyole Estate, Ibadan residence of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaka Ajimobi after news of his passing made the rounds.

Ajimobi was rumoured dead two weeks ago but his spokesman Bolaji Tunji told Morning Mail that the frontline politician was alive.

When this newspaper arrived at the house on Thursday following fresh rumours of his death, several sympathisers were seen wailing and mourning.

A woman broke into uncontrollable tears, recalling how good a family man he was. Another female sympathiser rolled on the floor, expressing deep anguish at the passing on of “my daddy.”

Ajimobi, a two-term governor of the state, was said to have died of complications arising from coronavirus infection.
